Between Light and Night

To mark Milan Design Week 2026, Vhernier is hosting the immersive installation “Between light and night” inside its boutique at Via Montenapoleone 21, celebrating the new Coucher du Soleil collection.

The exhibition design translates the collection into architecture, capturing the interplay between light, material and rhythm.

At the heart, Andrea Grandi’s site-specific sculpture acts as a dynamic entity that divides the space: its structure of overlapping slats is not merely a formal exercise, but a macroscopic projection of the jewellery itself.

Each brass “layer” of the tower echoes the layering and curvature characteristic of Vhernier’s creations, where gold takes on a rhythmic quality and the material opens up to the light. Just as a piece of jewellery embraces light, so too does this sculpture capture and refract rays in a play of glints and shadows, freezing the moment of twilight in a monumental scale.

The light pattern projected onto the floor transforms the space into an artistic sundial. As the lights shift, they alter the perception of volumes, generating a constantly evolving sensory landscape in which the tower becomes the fulcrum between goldsmith precision and architectural breath.

Between Light and Night
is open to the public through April 30, daily
from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The installation was designed for Vhernier by Michela Croci.
